More excavating and a septic tank

The whole landscape has changed rapidly again now that the excavator is back on site. The ground has been backfilled up to the foundations so that when we walk out the door there won't be a huge drop!  Also, all around the perimeter of the house sheets of 4 x 8  6" Styrofoam sheets have been placed and buried under sand. This will help prevent any frost from creeping under the edges of the house. 

Currently, the excavator is digging out a massive weeping field for the septic tank and a hulking septic tank has already been installed. Trust me, this is all very exciting stuff when you build a house!  Anyway, after this round of work we may have to wait a few weeks for the framing to start. Christmas is almost upon us and labour is in short demand.
