Getting the cottage ready

So we spent pretty much the whole two weeks getting things ready so that we can move into the cottage. We painted all of the downstairs (with the help of Tom) from a tired yellow to a fresher off-white shade. We cleaned, and we shopped, and did all the usual house ritual stuff like spending hours in Ikea and touring appliance shops. We bought a huge front loading washer and a dryer which I think look like they should be in a launderette. Appliances are bigger in Canada and washers etc. usually goes in a laundry room or basement so they don't design them to go under work tops. We also bought a fridge, a cooker, a bed, a hoover, lots of lights, bedding, and miscellaneous Ikeas essentails. I bought an axe.
